🔧 EPAuto GP281 (28113-3X000) Replacement Air Filter for Hyundai/Kia Elantra (2011-2016) & Forte (2014-2017) Review

The dealer charged $34 to replace my air filter because I'm a girl. I told the service advisor to bite me. Found this high quality air filter to fit my 2016 Hyundai Elantra SE. I watched the installation video on YouTube and installed it myself. Saved enough to buy a Brazilian. A happy girl is a happy customer.

The gasket supplied is too large and prevents the filter compartment from closing. I removed the gasket from the old one and replaced it with this one and it fits perfectly. This is for people with 2011 Elantra. Otherwise everything seems fine. Better than paying a mechanic $40 for an installation that only uses clips.

I chose this air filter based on the reviews. But if you compare it to the OEM like in my photos you will see it's not the same. Unfortunately I didn't have the new OEM filter for a full comparison, but you can see that the EPAuto filter has more gaps than the OEM filter. But maybe that's not a bad thing. I just installed so only time will come if it works just as well.

Exactly the same genuine Hyundai parts. Perfect fit for my 2013 Elantra Limited at a fraction of the cost of Hyundai parts. Opening the hood takes longer than installing this filter (the filter in the cabin is also simple). Dealers charge a FUN price to install these things. DO NOT pay them, install these filters yourself. Watch a video on YouTube how to do it. Easy to do!

This new filter looked exactly like the old filter in my 2015 Kia Forte. It was clean and white and installed the same as the old one, no fit issues. This new filter weighed less than the old one according to my hand scale. I believe the extra weight is due to the dirt in the old filter. In the old filter I saw a lot of plant fibers. The price of this filter is good, so I plan to change it more often in the hope of better mileage and engine performance.
