Each is about the size of two AA batteries stacked on top of each other. Not that it's bad, just FYI. They are about half the size of Fatrop's wand. On the plus side, they fluff up nicely and catch a spark easier than any other tinder I've tried (easier than even wet fire or pyro putty). The downside is that it doesn't burn as long and you don't get as much product for your money. It's not Tinder according to the package insert, but it is Tinder, and it's a very good Tinder. I bought this to test before a trip this summer. I was finally able to test them last weekend. I may not have used them exactly how the manufacturer intended, but they worked exactly how I wanted them to. I squeezed out about 3/4 inch of the tube, cut it off, shook out 3 tabs and left the rest as is. Place them on a stack of polished magnesium rods. Each time he flashed and caught easily. Bogoyavlensky fire fuses work. Yes of course you can use cotton balls and petroleum jelly or soak a cotton swab in a good wax mixture (leave some good cotton for a quick fire), or maybe better a cotton toothpack strip, but they work. pretty pretty.
