This toner cartridge when inserted into a Canon MF229dw printer produced faint gray lines where they should have been black. This problem persisted no matter how I fiddled with the settings. I read a lot in the manual and researched every option in the software, but always too little. So I bought a Canon branded cartridge, installed it and straight away the lines are dark and clear with all the default printer and software settings. Toner arrived quickly, works well in my Canon printer. The number of prints I can get from this machine is being updated. I'm a light to moderate user and print less than 600 pages per month, but I print on paper, card stock, certificates and color so I can quickly tell if the toner is of poor quality. I have bought many of these in the past and they have lasted about 3 months. Then the print on several cartridges became very light and difficult to read. Last cartridge lasts only 3 weeks! Having bought this in August 2019, I am trying to install it today (02/17/2020). In fact, this is the third cartridge I've bought this way. It won't install, and after comparing it to the previous one, which worked fine, I noticed that the spring that holds the plastic clasp in place is too short to be of any use. So I can't install it.
