Equus 8162 Electric Temperature Aluminum Review

I fitted the sensor to my Honda VT1100 ACE Shadow, the sensor is too long for a regular slot so I cut off the hose to the thermostat and put a tee in it.

Very easy to install and works great! Added this to my 2006 Polaris Sportsman 500 HO to get coolant temp readings. Highly recommended and absolutely fine for the price!

Installed in the dashboard of a JD tractor that did not have a pressure gauge. Works great with what's included. The only criticism is that the tractor does fog up a bit on the inside after washing, but on the one hand there are factory sensors. But great value for money and you no longer have to worry about seeing the stupid light when it's too late.

I replaced a burned out water temp sensor in my 1972 Dodge Charger with an Equus 8162. Before installing it, I tested it on a workbench by placing the included sensor in a pot of boiling water. .Temperature was just over 200 F. The included sensor screwed directly into the block that the original sensor was in - no adapter needed. I used an existing cable. The connector on the engine side did not need to be changed, but an adapter did need to be made to connect the dash to the sensor.

I got this sensor for my Harley Davidson v. Of course I had to adjust the horn cap to accommodate the sensor. But everything works fine. The only complaint I might have is that the bulb comes with small gel caps so you can change its color. So the light is getting pretty dim. So I just switched to an LED bulb and had no problems. Would definitely buy again if I need another one! Also no, there is no bracket included. But not the way I needed it!

I used this gauge in my Mustang's custom fairing where I didn't have room for a larger gauge. Very nice small sensor and comes complete with the transmitter and everything you need to connect it I replaced the included incandescent bulb with an LED bulb which I bought from a local auto parts store as I wanted something with a little more light and longer life (and it draws a lot less amps.)
