Description of ER4043 Aluminum MIG Welding Wire - 1 lb, 0.035" Diameter (4 Spools)

ER4043 - MIG Aluminum Welding Wire - 1 Lb x 0.035" (4 SPOOLS)

Characteristics

ER4043, also known as "AlSi5", is a highly versatile aluminum welding wire widely used in general-purpose applications. With its 5% silicon content, ER4043 exhibits excellent resistance to weld cracking, making it less sensitive than other aluminum alloys. The presence of silicon also helps lower the melting point, enhance the fluidity of the weld puddle, and results in a bright, shiny weld deposit. This welding wire is commonly utilized for welding various grades, including 6061, 6063, 5052, 3004, 3003, and cast alloys such as 356.0, 357.0, 413.0, and 443.0. With a melting range of 1065 °F– 1170 °F and a density of 0.097 lbs/in3, ER4043 ensures reliable performance and optimal post-anodizing gray color.

    Excellent product and customer service.

The cable works great. I had a small problem with one of the coils and fixed the problem as soon as possible. Will definitely buy again.

    Pros
    • ER4043, commonly referred to as "AlSi5", contains 5% silicon and is the oldest and one of the most widely used general purpose aluminum welding wires.
    Cons
    • So far so good

Not as good on thin aluminum as my previous spool from AlcoTec

I bought this to replace an AlcoTec roller with the same specs This material smells worse, produces more smoke and seems to spray more unevenly than the AlcoTec material I replaced May be suitable for thicker aluminum that you are using didn't have to do the settings that carefully, but I didn't have good results.

    Pros
    • 1lb wire per spool - Available diameters: .030", .035" and .045" - Available spools: 1, 2, 4 and 6 pack Menu
    Cons
    • Doubtful

It seems to be a good quality cable

It seems to be a good quality cable. I bought 16 rolls and tried them all. I use about 12 reels a week to build trailers. I didn't notice any problems with the cable.

Not as good on thin aluminum as my previous AlcoTec reel

I bought this reel to replace an AlcoTec reel with the same performance. This material smells worse, produces more smoke, and seems to spray more unevenly than the AlcoTec material I replaced. It's probably fine for thicker aluminum where you don't need to fine-tune the settings, but I haven't had good results.

    Pros
    • Excellent construction
    Cons
    • Crumpled packaging

works well with Tweco Bobbin Gun on Rebel 215!

I was having trouble with the flash that came with my Rebel EMP215IC welder, decided to replace it with a Tweco coil gun (Tweco SG160REB-12 3035), ordered these coils with aluminum wire and made a few passes as soon as I got them. The welds are nice and clean and the wire runs through the gun just fine! It's a bit more expensive than my local Airgas shop and I just buy their brand Radnor ER4043 when I run out of price if the price doesn't go down by then. One star off for the higher price.

    Pros
    • Easy to read control panel
    Cons
    • New competitors appeared
