Reassesment 24.Aug.2015

I had read reviews concerning how flimsy the upper part was, I thought they were exaggerating (since many other reviewers said they were satisfied). When I received them, I tried them out, wow, I almost fell over, catching myself on a dresser drawer!I have polio, and have been using crutches for many years, and this crutch is not at all weight bearing! I can only guess that to those who gave a positive on this product (3 stars or more), weight bearing may not have been a real issue. That is…

Pros
  • Health & Household
Cons
  • The weight and size of the crutches may make them cumbersome to carry around

Definitely beat the conventional crutches

These Ergobaum® Prime7TH Generation by Ergoactives are very well designed with a few thoughtful features. In terms of the built quality, I think it is top-notch - relatively light, multiple color choices, a strap to hold your forearm in place when you need to open the door, very flexible in terms of adjustability, a horn to alert someone when they are in your way, and a light in case you are walking with your crutches in the dark. (note: the horn and the light are thoughtful nice-to-haves. I…

Absolutely Wonderful But Take Your Time Learning To Use Them!

I'm a 66 year-old amputee since 1994, 5'11", 175lbs. In those 28 years, I've mostly used a prosthesis, but I have extensive experience with simple forearm crutches. However, I've been suffering from an arthritic carpal-metacarpal joint on my left thumb/hand which now makes the use of rigid forearm crutches painful. I had to recently return to the use of forearm crutches because of stump issues that prevent me from donning my prosthesis. So.back to the old crutches. I began searching for a more…

  • 34 x 9 x 4 inches; 6.11 Pounds

Very helpful best in my review

I use these almost daily, it really has helped improve my independence. I purchased these about 3 months ago and have no complaints. The little horn makes me chuckle, I’m not too sure what it’s use actually is. The light is awesome though, comes in handy. The crutches are well made and I absolutely recommend them. Way more helpful for my stability compared to a cane, and more comfortable.

Pros
  • No
Cons
  • The crutches may be difficult to clean and maintain, which could lead to hygiene issues

Nice crutches but a little noisy already after only owning them for a month. The springs are squeaky but they are still a nice quality product that makes you go faster than regular crutches. The handle on the left hand has made the 3 outer fingers on my left hand go numb. Hopefully it's not permanent nerve damage but it's been happening since I started using them. Surprisingly though it's not happening with the right hand so not sure what I am doing differently with my left than the right. I…
