I needed wicks that could stand up straight for oil candles (regular olive oil lamps). The wicks must have a core (usually zinc) to stand up straight. They're just soft filament on a spool with nothing in it, so they're not suitable for oil candles unless you're making hard wax candles that can hold the filament.

This wick is advertised as suitable for 2" to 3" poles . I've been making 2" rods for 30 years and have had trouble finding the same wick I've been buying since COVID. Now I buy a lot on the internet for security reasons. This wick is really small in comparison. It might work for cones, but doesn't burn well at all in a 2 inch rod.

Great deal, much better than buying bespoke wicks especially if you make many different sized candles. All you need is a set of wick blades and you can attach them to any length you want. Remember to dip the wick in the wax and let it dry before pouring the candle. It needs to be covered with dry wax to keep it hard and flammable while the candle burns. If you forget this step, the candle will continue to extinguish as the wick falls into the melted wax and extinguishes. Have fun making candles
