No longer working - Radio

I bought this weather radio for a (Christmas present) person with special needs (disability). He called us yesterday to say the radio has stopped working, my husband went to check it and put in new batteries but of course it wouldn't turn on, we tried to reset it, it runs on triple A batteries. My window is closed to return this gift. but I guarantee I will not buy anything else from Revain unless this radio is replaced with @ which I paid a good price for. We don't know what's wrong with it…

Pros
  • Very good quality
Cons
  • Lots of things

Large internal battery

Bought for an emergency/first aid kit. Really good quality and build quality. One thing that sets it apart from most is the size of the internal battery at 2000mAh which not only makes it last longer but also makes it more suitable as a USB emergency charger. Others have 1000 or even less - look carefully. A digital tuner is better than a mechanical one simply because mechanical tuners change frequency so quickly that tuning becomes painful and plastic wheels and guides are more prone to…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Too long to wait

Tuner - digital tuner for fine tuning the frequency. Antenna - Small, compact, helps a bit with reception. I was able to receive local AM/FM radio stations and weather radio. Buttons - everything is properly labeled, visible and legible. The flashlight is LED and bright enough to be useful. Dynamo - hand crank works quite simply. Turned on and listened to Christmas music Speaker - One speaker. Sounds good at low volume 3 to moderate volume 7, but undesirable at higher levels. Fear - Attracts…

Good emergency radio

I bought this for our "GO" emergency set. It fulfills all the functions described. While I don't want to use this as an "everyday" radio, in an emergency - a hurricane, power outage, going to an animal shelter, etc. - it's what you need. Yes, you can spend more, but it will get you through. Okay, the manual needs some work. I was able to receive VHF, AM and the NOAA weather station for my area. NOAA stations are pre-programmed; All you have to do is browse to find the one that suits your area…

Perfect emergency radio

Emergency radios are, as the name suggests, intended for emergencies. Devices of this type rarely perform their tasks the way specialized devices do. The radio works great but certainly doesn't sound as good as a standalone AM/FM stereo. The weather radio works well but doesn't pick up as many stations as the portable VHF I use on my boat. The light is very bright but still lags behind some of the best LED flashlights. The USB charger works and I was able to charge my iPhone 6 with no problems,

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

In the air. in Weather Radios

Handy, portable and affordable. Unfortunately I have 2 problems right out of the box. Radio antennas simply tilt to the side when extended. It will not stay in any position that helps ingestion. Annoying, but the 2nd question is a deal breaker. The charging handle simply rotates. The resistance is zero and the charge LED is not lit. Something is clearly broken inside. I have no doubt they didn't want to send a lemon. At least not on purpose. It's just quality control, but by any standards this…

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • No Insurance

Works for what I need

Pretty decent weather radio. I can't say I've had a lot of time to test the features because luckily there hasn't been an emergency here yet (thank goodness!), but I quickly tested all the features and plan to test them regularly just for the sake of it to make sure that they will continue to run in the future in the event of an emergency. Started using the handle to increase the power from the first use. The crank is honestly a bit annoying. I wouldn't recommend it as the primary loading…

  • Worth the money

great for emergencies or camping

I live in Florida so hurricane preparedness is very important to me. I was looking for a decent weather radio to use in an emergency, and I really wanted one that would run on standard batteries, which I have in abundance. This one meets these criteria and more. It 1) is rechargeable via microUSB, 2) uses optional AAA batteries, 3) has a solar panel for charging, 4) has a power handle. So you have 4 ways to put this into action. After you use up the charge and the batteries are dead, you can…

Pros
  • Great selection
Cons
  • Nothing here
