I like that you can adjust the accuracy like all thermometers of this type. However, moving the clip is extremely difficult (nearly impossible at first). Hard to read around the corner, unlike the ones I used to work as a barista. Now that I'm much older I appreciate the large dial, which is why I bought it. I also love the color coding.

The plastic lid melted on first use, I placed it on a saucepan of milk and warned it would heat up to 165 degrees for 15 seconds, enough to close the plastic lens deform that popped out and the plastic lens holds the digits in place so now the digits are spinning like crazy making it impossible to calibrate, save, calibrate and reuse. Perhaps a pirated logo is a sign that it is a pirated product.

I really like this thermometer. I own a coffee shop and have tried many different thermometers only to find that they have small dials that are difficult to read or that they are slow to respond to the rapid temperature changes that occur when frothing milk. Barista Basics large face is large and easy to see while you, the barista, are interacting with customers. And it's very precise, meaning less accidentally boiling milk and less time wasted re-frothing milk.
