You get what you pay for.

No audiophile quality. (Surprise!) But they work, albeit with some hum/noise. Not bad for the price if all you need is a binary monitoring/noise trigger. plug and play

  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Discontinued model

works great, was concerned when I saw what it was.

works great, I got worried when I saw that it needs to be connected to my tower. My tower is a foot from my camera, but my daughter says we sounded great, loud and clear when we skyped.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Something is wrong

Awesome little device

I needed a microphone to use Cortana on my new laptop. It costs $4.98. I decided to give it a try. Fantastic little machine. It's the size of my fingernail, just plug it in and it works. Some say it's not good; my excellent. Cortana loves this. One day I turned it off and Cortana sent me an email saying "Junk".

Pros
  • Nice
Cons

Suitable for my occasional needs

Working. It's difficult to hear you on the other end of the line, so turn down background noise and speak loudly and clearly. This will help you get used to speaking well about your shortcomings. I don't use it regularly so this works for me. If I had to speak into the microphone more often, I would buy it again. But it suits my needs.

Perfect fit for Cortana on mini pc with no mic

Picked this up for use with my Chuwi LarkBox Pro which has no mic. I'm not a regular Cortana user, but for the few dollars this product costs, it allows me to use it. It responds even though it's plugged into the back of the box. I have no idea how it might sound like for other applications, but it's a simple solution for my use case.

I have ordered 2 of these. You must be .

I ordered 2 of these. You have to be at the top with almost a mic in your mouth for it to record. I also found that the material on the metal pins in the connector itself is so thick that it barely fits in my USB drive on my computer. It was a cheap product so maybe they count on people not taking care of them enough and returning items even if they are mostly faulty.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Embarrassing

Not on computer microphones

The microphone on my Chromebook stopped working for some reason, so this was an unobtrusive attempt at a replacement. Technically it was better than nothing, but still not enough for practical use. You had to shout if you wanted your interlocutor to hear you during the conference call. I didn't want to take any more risks and bought a Samson brand microphone which sounds great but is bulky and wired.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick guide

Doesn't work on computer accessories and peripherals

Nothing I did would help this job. I've checked my microphone settings, drivers, etc. Other microphones (I have an old one and one on my webcam) work fine. I went to device manager and it said the mic is working but it's not working. I've tested it on ZOOM and with the Voice Recorder app on my PC and it just doesn't work. I set my microphone volume to maximum (zero by default) and that didn't help. The troubleshooter keeps saying the device is working, but it's not working.

Pros
  • Special offer
Cons
  • Hard to say
