Optimize Your Cleaning Efficiency with the EUREKA Genuine DCF-10/DCF-14 Filter 62731-1 Filter Review

Perfect fit! I wasn't sure if that would be it. I love my Eureka mini vacuum. The best I've ever used. The new filter changes the world. The fact that they are affordable pleases me as a consumer!

The picture shows black plastic plugs with white filter element but the actual item I received was yellow plastic and gray filter. . Small problem, but just for info. It's the right article, so maybe Eureka updated it a bit and Revane's photos are out of date. There are no problems with the configuration and performance.

This filter fits perfectly, no complaints. However, it doesn't look as durable as the original. The paper appears thinner and less securely folded. Also, when first used, the filter picked up a musty smell from the carpet that stuck to the filter after it was cleaned, sprayed with Febreze and completely dried. I haven't washed it yet so I don't know how it will hold up.

I was glad to find this product on the website and not hunt around town in search. That being said, the filters are expensive compared to the cost of a vacuum, which a friend actually gave me when he left. The vacuum works better than the Oreck vacuum that I paid over $300 for. But to be honest, I clean the filter every now and then to prolong its life, otherwise at some point it will be cheaper (less environmentally friendly) to buy a new vacuum cleaner.

I have to say that I really like our Eureka Optima. We've used it exclusively in our house for a number of years and only recently downgraded it to stair only status when we got a new Dyson on an exclusive offer in Sam's big box. However, it is almost impossible to find original Eureka-branded DCF-10s, and while the DCF-10 and DCF-14 are interchangeable, this one has a -14 design. I really like my lightweight Optima, it's great for cleaning stairs and carpets. It is easy to manoeuvre, is not too heavy, but has a very strong suction power. But I hate changing filters - they are so dirty. I have to do it outside on a windless day. So it helps in several ways to have several spare parts.
