These belts don't last forever - I have four of these at church/preschool and I probably burn 36-48 belts a year. My use is heavy, but it's still hard to tell if the straps are to blame.

After a few Applications the belt began to slip and the heart to the point that it smelled like burnt rubber and slipped so the brush would not spin. The hair found wrapped around the belt spindle, causing the belt to slip. The spindle cleaned of three hairs. I wiped the dusty strap with alcohol and it worked again, but it seemed stretched a bit. Let's see how long it lasts after that.

First of all, my Sanitaire S677 is used at home almost every day. Dog hair, lots of people and carpeting. These straps are inexpensive, but my car only lasts two weeks. I still have the old belt that I put back in the car every now and then and I drive that old belt for a week and then it gets replaced with one of these newer belts. I do this to see if it's the belts or the machine. That old belt still works great, but the new ones fall apart pretty quickly. The price of these belts is low, but
