I use them for paintball. I like protection and comfort. However, they will degrade over time and eventually you will need to buy new ones. I've put the refills to good use and recently bought new ones.

I've tried them for airsoft and they've held up horribly. I'm playing indoors on smooth concrete and after a couple of slides the knob came loose. These knee pads are nothing more than window dressing, but what do you expect from a pair of $17 knee pads?

First, the pair of elbow pads I received is not a hard shell, I can easily bend the shell. Belts are probably the biggest red flag. They don't sync in place, instead relying on flimsy rubber bands to fit around the hand. When I put them on my hand they stayed in place. The only use I see for them is cosplay or costume.
