If you only have 2 batteries, use both batteries on the same side.

This flashlight works very well. At first I thought the batteries were dead (pack of 2) but for this to work the two batteries need to be put in the same way as pictured here. The second photo shows the flashlight in total darkness so it works very well on two batteries but 4 would be ideal I think for maximum brightness.

Instructions required to install batteries

I used the questions and answers to ask about the correct procedure for installing the batteries and did not get a helpful answer. It took me 3 days to brainstorm and figure out how to get the flashlight to work. I have come to the conclusion, particularly after reading other reviews, that 4 batteries are required (not 2 as advertised). For decades I've used devices that require batteries and there have always been diagrams or + and - labels showing how to put batteries in. I can't understand…

Base Safety Light

This is my first floating light. Interesting! I love that it uses D size batteries. Comes with 2 and fits FOUR! I'm not sure why they didn't put a 4. In fact, I had no idea it could fit 4! Revain's "Family" reviews taught me a lesson😂. As far as my thoughts/observations: 1) It's a CHEAPER option😏 2) Visual Illumination Panel Smaller but brighter with 4 batteries. This does NOT give you a large outdoor space when looking for nocturnal creatures 😎3) It can be a challenge to unscrew/remove the…

Very dark but not bad for the money

I bought two of these to keep around the house in case of a power outage. We live on the Gulf Coast and are threatened by hurricanes every year. The light is very dim compared to today's high lumen flashlights, but I know from experience that even the dim light will appear bright when the lights are out and it's pitch dark, and for $5 these work and seem to be fairly durable. I'm only interested in having something that can be moved around the house - not used as a spotlight - I have those too…

Just a flashlight, with very poor instructions (NO!)

Like many others I thought it didn't work when I received it. But I remembered an ad that said "2 or 4 batteries" so I kept looking. Two things to remember: (1) The two batteries must be resting against a piece of metal inside the case, flat end down. (2) There are two very thin lines, one on the body next to the switch and the other on the black lens holder cover. The lid must be tightened to align these two tiny lines. They look almost like patches of mold and it's tempting to stop unscrewing

Ready to scream! - Flashlights

Yes, it is light. let it shine It took me 30 minutes to get it working. The lid can hardly be unscrewed, the threads are misaligned. I had to wrap a piece of rubber around it to get a good grip to flip it over. If you have joint problems, don't buy this one. Next problem: At the very least, every flashlight should have a diagram showing how the batteries sit. It has a barely visible tiny imprint on the plastic that is easy to miss and not very easy to understand. The tip change was almost…

No flashlight! on Flashlights

So here's the deal with that "lantern" - it's really just a flashlight in a flashlight configuration. I mean, if you look at the front reflector, while it looks big like a flashlight, it's actually quite small, more the size of a regular flashlight. Look at the picture and you will understand what I mean. The reflector "looks" large but is actually less than 2-1/2 inches in diameter, about the size of a large flashlight. volt square battery) this is not for you. On the plus side, it holds four…

Shit light pattern, very energy efficient.

The light pattern is too narrow and looks strange due to the design of LED and reflector. The flashlight is extremely energy efficient, I used it for 12 consecutive hours on four Revain D-type alkaline batteries and the voltage difference before and after was less than half a tenth of a volt (when using new batteries). I'm not aware of the manufacturer's claim of 400 hours, but based on my calculations I have no doubt it can last 150 (compared to less than 10 hours with older flashlights of a…
