Works great - replaceable wicks and trimmers

I won't lie I bought this out of sheer laziness. I have one from Yankee Candle and I love it, but their products are expensive. I literally wanted one in every room so I didn't have to keep walking around the house just to blow the breaker in the room I was in. Works great and the price has allowed me to buy several without breaking the bank. Do not judge me.

saves my time Furnishings

I love this wick trimmer. I'm a candle maker and have been making large batches of candles lately as I prepare to open my shop. I trimmed my wicks with sewing scissors but it usually takes me 2 or 3 attempts to trim the wicks completely and sometimes my wicks move around in my wax when I try to trim them. Not with these. I can cut the wicks with a precise cut and no longer touch the top layer of wax on candles.

Good wick trimmer - candles and holders

I have a couple of candles in large jars and for a long time used large fabric scissors to cut them which was quite difficult as the wax got deeper and deeper I used found this cheap wick trimmer. It is very durable and heavy. For some reason the blades seem to be screwed on very tightly making it a bit difficult for fingers to open and close the safety but it works so I left mine and it does the job.

Pros
  • Feels good
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Cuts through wood wicks

I was surprised for a number of reasons. First, the trimmer arrived a day early. Second, it cuts brand new wooden wicks that haven't been burned yet (contrary to some negative reports, it doesn't even cut small cotton wicks that have been burned). Third, it's durable, which was unexpected for such a price. Fourth, I really do find real value compared to the price. I am happy with the trimmers. You will find many uses because I make my own candles. The trimmers seem reliable and that's all I…

Good product but not new as advertised

They were advertised as new but I have just received them and they were clearly used. You can see the accumulation of grime on the edges of the blade and the handles are not "polished and shiny" like the description says. They're a bit shabby. I will not be returning them as as far as I can tell they are flawless, work well and appear sturdy. I would have given them more stars if they weren't advertised as new. Otherwise it seems to be a good product.

Doesn't run smoothly

The blades are not precisely set against each other, so they bind every time you try. I bought another one from another supplier that looks exactly the same and works well. It's not like this. I received this one after the other and expected it to work so I didn't save the packaging for return. So I'll keep using it - it cuts the fuse wrong - until it bothers me enough that I feel the need to get rid of it. If I buy another, I buy one from the supplier that works perfectly.

Cons
  • Hard to tell

Works well but small finger holes

Works well. My wife burns one of these candles in jars every night, so I use a lot of candles. Many years ago I realized that if you cut the fuse before lighting each night, it would last much longer. If a variety has a thin wick, you'll need to let it sit longer to burn off all of the wax on the sides of the jar. . But when it all burns down, I cut it off with regular scissors before lighting it up each night. About 1/4 inch seems about right for the candles we buy (from the world's largest…
