Very inaccurate

My total alkalinity readings were between 40 and 90 ppm. Tested 50 times and used an entire bottle of reagent strips. Never get the same reading twice. I did EVERYTHING right. Cleaned with a brush after each test. washed 3 times. Fill the box to the brim. I lowered the strips to the bottom of the cuvette. Didn't bend the strips. 2 beats per second forward and backward. Do not spill water on the camera. NOT EXACTLY! don't waste money. For $300 bills, that's a crime!

Pros
  • Automatically calculates magnesium, hardness, sodium and residual alkalinity
Cons
  • No performance

Not worth the money

Would not recommend this product to any home brewer. The results, if you can get them, are vastly different from what a testing company like Ward Labs can provide. In most cases the parameters for typical brewing water (including the pH function) are "too low" so you can only read up to 2 or even 3 important brewing parameters. In the end, the hardware just stopped working and the app crashed, destroying any results I was able to get. I ended up throwing the whole set in the trash because the…

This is a decent product but it won't take long if you want to brew quality beer. I bought the kit and got everything I needed to test my water for pH up to 6.0. I contacted the seller stating that this didn't help me as the optimal pH for brewing is 5.2. The seller informed me that I needed to get an acidic pH reagent and he would send me the item for free since it should have been included in the first place. One caveat: the iDip meter is designed to test water and cannot test for clogging as
