I have super harsh iron and city water. This was easy to install, decent price & doesn't look to terrible. There is a brand new filter in the setup & comes with another. Installation was pretty simple. I just followed the instructions and it went well. Only thing that wasn't totally clear was what direction the filter should actually go. Directions say to check to make sure it's in the right direction but it isn't really super obvious which direction that is. I live in an area with extremely hard water. We use special softener salt to try to help get the iron out of the water, but we were still having issues with orange stains in the tub (and in my hair!) thanks to the rust situation. From what I can see, it’s filled with tiny charcoal & white & golden particles. That’s it, so water just runs through it, not sure how thats 15 stage protection, or how it clears fluoride. I feel a lot of marketing text isn’t lab tested content. I take my water very seriously and so as I was trying to run water to filter new filter through the bottom came out & all tiny pieces spilled and went down my drain, hopefully this won’t cause a clog. Four stars only because the filter does have a slight leak after installation, BUT, The difference it has made in my hair and skin has been amazing. No more dry itchy skin and smoother hair after the first use. I’m not sure how long it will last, but I’ll buy a new one each month for these kind of results if I have to.
