There shouldn't be any stars.

The device is totally unpredictable whether it 1. works or 2 causes the software to freeze requiring a computer restart because even the task manager detects it won't turn on out of the program. And 3, it absolutely doesn't work in motion detection mode, which is the only mode that can use G-force thresholds. It's not Mac compatible, so it stayed idle until I got a Windows computer The short return window has expired so now I'm stuck with this crap and the company that sells it (not Revain or…

Pros
  • Remote vibration sensor on 39" (2m) cable
Cons
  • Slightly cracked

Worth every penny.

This is an amazing meter, especially for the price. It works great, although my computer (windows 7) had to fiddle around a bit to find it. The program works flawlessly and is easy to use. Of course, it doesn't have a very pleasant interface, but engineers don't usually care much about it. We care more about data accuracy and precision and the fact that this device is calibrated is really great. Most inexpensive vibration analyzers that you can buy have only one axis. This has 3 axes. That's a…

Pros
  • Frequency range 10Hz to 1kHz
Cons
  • Weak

I would choose this meter over most vibration meters in the $1000-2000 range - just add a cheap laptop and you have a much more versatile and capable hardware than standalone mid/low range meters . I plan to buy 2-3 more for field use - one for each of my crews that align rotary equipment in the field. This device has the ability to display real-time FFT data, including a frequency versus magnitude plot, which is very useful when troubleshooting vibrations. Questions about equipment in the…

Pros
  • Stores/replays up to 500 readings
