Easy to use and accurate

For the drones I fly, it's important for me to record the weather conditions at my location. It is easy and quick to set up and read.

Pros
  • Test, measure and verify
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Best of low tech digital thermometer

This anemometer is very easy to use. I had to read the instructions for setting the units of measure, but no problem. Reliable and durable with accurate wind readings. Temperatures seem a bit slow when taken out of car and responsive to wind readings hence the 4 stars.

Pros
  • Built-in compass shows wind direction (up/down/down wind calculation) and 360° readings
Cons
  • Slightly torn

Not what I would call waterproof.

It's supposed to be floatable and waterproof, but after being submerged an inch in water for about 2 minutes it stopped working. An O-ring in the battery cover and other anti-intrusion measures are not enough. There was visible water in the block and it took 2-3 days of sitting in the sun for the moisture to come out. Luckily it worked again later, but I'm definitely not happy. What good is something to a sailor that can't get a little wet? If you want to tell people your product is waterproof,

Pros
  • The Max function retrieves the maximum wind speed value over time
Cons
  • Requires an electrical outlet
