Where is the 20V range?

Too bad I didn't take a closer look at the specs! This "professional" DMM does not have a 20V range (AC or DC). Pretty useless for most electronics work. I have several other great Extech products. This one is disappointing.

Pros
  • Maximum current 10 A
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Excellent value for electronics

At around $30 this is a great tool. I have a Fluke 177 that I use most of the time, but I'd like an extra one. The display is nice and the backlight is bright. This is a manual range device so finding the right settings can be a bit tricky at times and the speaker on the diode test is also fine but gets the job done.

Pros
  • 8-function mean DMM with 0.5% base accuracy
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Buy a good one. Best in Electricals

I had one at work and when I retired I couldn't take it with me. :( The price of these has really come down since I got one to work with over 10 years ago. I don't see why anyone would buy cheap when you can get Extech for the same price. Maybe not this one but here there are other options to choose from. It could have better leads. It only included the base set. I bought another lead set to use.

Pros
  • Input Fuse Protection and Terminal Seizure Alert
Cons
  • No Job

Nice features. too many defects

Defects:1) To replace the fuse, unscrew the 4 screws on the back panel and disassemble the daughter board through which the Battery cable is threaded .2 ) DC voltage ranges: 200mV, 2V, 200V and 500V. If you are measuring anything between 2V and 200V you will only have a reading accuracy of up to 0.1V. This is a pretty good one Accuracy at 200V, but at 3V it is only 1 part per 30.3) On the front of the box it is written that this model has an internal temperature sensor. While many 400 series…

Pros
  • AC/DC voltage and current, resistance, temperature, diode/continuity
Cons
  • minus present
