Slow, too slow for gaming consoles

The hard drive works, is well formatted, even kinda nice. But it's so slow that my Ps4 doesn't think it's a USB 3.x device and won't let me use it. I have it installed on my laptop now and will probably use it to offload old audio/video projects for archival purposes.

too slow, not useful at all.

was used to backup the photo library. 200GB started backing up, drive said estimated time 22 hours. I just threw mine in the trash.

Run for the hills! for computers and accessories

This drive is complete junk. If you just want to host small files individually, this might work for you. However, forget about more intensive things like reformatting a hard drive or bulk copying files. In winter, this disc crawls more slowly than a snail. So pick another option, dammit, Western Digital sells a 2TB USB 3.0 drive for about $20 more.

Large capacity but slow

These drives are slow, averaging 10MB/s for me, which means it takes over 3 hours to transfer 100GB. However, the capacity is very good for the price. The drive is compact, but it's not an SSD, it's a spinning HDD (probably 1.8"?) like the original iPods and Zunes, if you remember them :-)

Decent storage for the money and it works for me but transfers data very slowly

I'm more or less happy with this drive, so read on to see why. you can not be This device is used with my Chromebook to store FLAC music files that I download from a high-resolution music website. For the money I would give it 5 stars because it offers 2TB of storage at a fraction of the cost of other SSDs and it comes out of the box with my Chromebook. BUT it is very slow in transferring data. If you're transferring files with the included USB cable, you'll have to wait a bit. About 1 gigabyte
