A bit bulky but gets the job done

I wore Keen bike sandals until they fell apart. Unfortunately they were discontinued so I replaced them with these. They're not that easy to put on and take off with all those velcro straps and once on they're quite wide. But they are comfortable and I love their reflective material and they are definitely more comfortable than regular road shoes.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Only available in black

True to size I wear a size 12 and am 46cm and they work great.

Keen cycling sandals worn for years but no longer made. Bought these and I love them. Just as Keynes is better in some ways. I highly recommend it. I drive about 5,000 miles a year so they train. Very convenient.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • So far so good

These sandals are quite heavy

Comfortable sandals, many adjustments with multiple straps. The heel strap is padded and holds the foot in place without forcing it forward into the toe box, which is important for maintaining foot/pedal position. The color is pleasant and provides additional visibility in traffic. My only issue was the weight of each sandal - 494 grams without spikes. my Tommaso Tri sneakers weigh 304 grams each, with spikes. The Exustar sandals come with mountain bike cleats but are easily swapped out for SPD

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • High price

Perfect for summer while protecting your toes

I've never tried Shimano's famous SPD peep toe sandals (which are back in 2020). I just never liked the whole toe thing, too many toe bumps in tewas. Of course, this is mostly hiking or playing in the water. And my MTB use usually got me running over some rough rock patches and the lack of leg protection seemed unreasonable. They were also expensive (especially with newer versions). But now I ride CBM mainly in the south and when I saw Exustar shoes with all the essential toe caps half price…

Great fit; I would like more breathability

I have always ordered for 40 euros (9.5 for women) and shoes 40/41. At first I thought they were too big because when my toe was pushed forward in the shoe, there was about an inch more in the back. But after adjusting the straps I found the fit nice and roomy, nothing compressing and I really don't want my toes sticking out that far. I figured the next size up might be too small so I'm happy with my fit. (I might even wear them with #pnwstyle socks this fall.) Also note: The straps are long…

Good quality bike sandals!

I have been cycling long distances for over 30 years and normally wear cycling sandals which I often wear every day for 4-6 weeks. Over time I used 8 pairs of Keen bike sandals of different models until the company stopped making bike sandals for SPD. I've tried other brands including previous Exustar models as well as the popular Shimano sandals but didn't find adequate strap support and didn't like keeping my toes open when cross country riding. After 4 months and 2000 miles these Exustar…

FINALLY a cycling shoe that supports wide feet/bumps

FINALLY a shoe that works! I use them for indoor cycling/backriding. I have wide feet/bumps and after trying on 5 different types of shoes I went to a bike shop, measured my foot, went through the whole process of ordering the shoes - waiting for the shoes to arrive - trying on the shoes - just one more Bike course when I find a shoe my foot hurts. In the end the bike shop said there was nothing they could do until my bursitis was fixed. I decided to check out Revain to see if there are other…
