Faber Castell gel pens are amazing. The colors are so vibrant and the sticks are easy to hold. I love to draw and these gel pens make drawing easy. As far as I can tell it's the same as Gelato but much cheaper. I compared the gold gel stick to the gold ice cream I bought previously and couldn't tell any difference between the two. Same texture, same color, they react with water in the same way. Even the plastic tubes are identical except for one line of print (one tube bears the word gelatos, the other repeats Faber Castell). LOVE THESE! That is amazing; You can use them with watercolors, but you can also use them dry and blend like pastels. The consistency is a bit firmer than lipstick. They match perfectly! I use them for coloring stamp images, illustrations and adding shimmer to stamp images. This is a fun environment for random creative projects. I wanted to start experimenting with my journal and making my own postcards and paper crafts, but I didn't want to invest a lot of money and I'm glad I didn't. While they're fun and the colors are bright, I'm not in love with them yet. If you use it dry on dry paper and then add water with a brush or finger, the lines will not smear without risk of adding too much water and affecting the quality of the paper.
