Every Artist Should Have This

I started looking for markers to cover a variety of spaces and this was definitely the perfect match. You can get both thin and thick strokes in this market, and it's so easy to maneuver in your hands for the best angles. I like how dark the marker is and it doesn't bleed on mixed media paper, so that's a plus. I recommend!

Fantastic Handicraft Pens

Large brush pens are essential for the mixed media artist. I've had mixed results with other types of pens because many of them didn't achieve the smudged look I was aiming for. Big Brush Pens are very versatile and can be used with stamps instead of an ink pen. Buy one and try it. I think you will need the whole flower collection.

Pros
  • Finally Bought
Cons
  • A Little Fixability

Shame. A real shame.

FC is the gold standard for markers, which is what makes this marker so disappointing. 1 day it worked fine. Very quickly the top began to crumble. About a week later he ran out of ink. I don't know if the marker I received was already old and dying or they all are, but I was very upset after spending $7 on a black marker that was dying. within days. And no, I didn't take the cap off and abuse the marker.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Fits

Leaves streak marks

I have this big Pitt pen to create a black background. I watched a video where the background was first painted over with a black pen and then covered with this marker. This method helps prevent coloring book bleeding, but this marker leaves streaks. You can clearly see any streaks where it's been used and doesn't produce a nice clean black background. This might be fine for use in very small areas, but in large areas you'll see all the places it's been used.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful

Not nearly as good as a UNI Brush Pen

PITT Brush Pen made in Austria. The UNI Fine Line Brush Pen is made in Japan. Who paints better with a brush? In fact, I'm convinced that Jiro writes with UNI in the opening scene of Jiro Dreams Of Sushi. PITT is taller, but the line isn't nearly as noticeable, and it's just thick and awkward. In fact, retrospectively, there are artists who buy cheap colored brush pens for children and fill them with ink. I could go that route - PITT isn't very good.

Perfect for a Bible journal!

This pen writes great! The ink is fairly light, doesn't spread across the pages, and doesn't show through at all. The shading is very minimal or non-existent when I have prepared the page in advance. I don't think this pain will end any time soon, especially as I use it for small phrases or verses to emphasize in my Bible. With this pen it is very easy to create a "brush stroke" effect with thin upward strokes and strong downward strokes. Overall I'm very happy with it and will definitely order

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Quick start guide
