Exceptional Watercolor Paper

Based on our own experience, this paper is perfect for watercolor painting. It absorbs paint well resulting in vivid and clear colors. It has a smooth texture that makes it easy to work with, and it doesn't warp or buckle when wet. However, it can be a bit pricey compared to other options in the market.

Pros
  • High-quality bright white paper that is excellent for watercolor painting
Cons
  • Repair

Don't like it at all

Didn't expect quality from Arches but it's like branded watercolor paper. I bought it direct from Jerry. The painting looks fine when finished, but the paper really seems to be struggling with the watercolor. Reminds me of Hot Press, but it's not.

Pros
  • Great construction
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Great budget paper!

My usual paper is Buckingford in 11 x 15 sheets but I was looking for an inexpensive alternative that comes in a spiral notepad for quick travel sketches. I've used Fabriano paper in the past and enjoyed it, more expensive paper has been used so I decided to give this inexpensive paper a try. I was pleasantly surprised at how this 1264 paper performs. It handles wet-on-wet without pilling, dry brushing and also lifts without a hitch. All these techniques have been used in the attached painting…

Pros
  • Good stuff
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something
