I have a 16-channel Zosi security system. I had problems with cameras flickering and not working. I thought it might be because I added splitters to the existing power plugs which reduced the amperage too much. I bought this splitter to replace the power supply for 8 of my 16 cameras. They work great now. I'm ordering a second one for the rest of my cameras, not only will it provide enough power for the cameras to work properly, it will get rid of 8 connectors - really cleans up the area!

I recently upgraded my system from 6 to 8 cameras and decided to load share 2 PSUs so I bought this one. Cameras with the old power supply look fine, any camera connected to this power supply will have lines of electrical noise running through the image. My other power supply has a 3 prong (grounded) cord and this one has no ground so this might be a feature to look for when shopping. Unfortunately, like many others shown here, this power strip is not properly grounded. They use a neutral wire for grounding instead of adding a third wire for grounding. This third wire is required for analog video surveillance (like HD-TVI) to provide a permanent ground connection for all equipment, especially if your DVR/NVR and camera are normally connected to a UPS. I tested this power supply with a meter. With no load, it reads about 12.5 volts. At a load of 1 ampere shows 12 volts. With a load of 1.24 amps, it falls below the permissible limit of 11.57 volts. up to 11.35 volts. The 5 ampere power supply did not fall below 12 volts at a miserable 2 amperes. The only thing we liked about this product is that if any of the power connectors on the connected devices (we had one connected incorrectly) are connected incorrectly, the entire device will shut down . I think that's both a good and bad thing as it won't destroy itself or your hardware, but it might lead you to believe that the problem is power related. Ignore my first rating. After writing this review, the wavy video is back. Even with different power supplies and cameras they come and go and it has nothing to do with the fancy power supply.
