Finally the right product

Was misdirected to the store and bought the wrong product. It was just what I needed for my wall mounted range hood. Works great and at a great price.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Some defects

buy not good for lighting and ceiling fans

Adopted for Fantech fans. Causes a loud hum and buzz in the fan. A Fantech technician later told me that this could shorten the life of the motor and cause the fan to overheat. threw it away, money down the drain

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • Functionality

Product exactly as described

Speed control is reliable and works as described. One of the few inexpensive speed controllers that work with a powerful exhaust fan. Delivery was as expected. Responses to pre-sales questions were limited but acceptable.

Pros
  • Nice look
Cons
  • Dull packaging

I am extremely disappointed. It worked great while it worked

I bought this controller with a Fantech 2SHE1221 fan in June 2015. It's August 2016 and this controller no longer changes speed. Basically it is an on/off switch. I am extremely disappointed. It's worked great so far, but not for long. I expected much more durability.

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Broadly ok but...

Good way to reduce air volume

A few years ago I bought a speed controller that was installed in a waterproof greenhouse box but it stopped working. It was a perfect replacement for less than half the price. It just had to be reinstalled with two screws and two wires attached with wire nuts (all included). This works well to slow down or turn off fans that are designed to slow down. happy customer

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Hard to remember but it was

Extremely loud electrical noise

This controller greatly increases the noise of my fan; it begins to emit a loud electrical "hum". like the hum of a fluorescent lamp, but deeper. If you want a noiseless reduction in fan speed, you need an AC voltage transformer (variac), which allows you to smoothly control the amplitude of the AC current you receive from the mains. I didn't know until I bought this machine. If you care about fan noise, skip this and just buy a CVT.

Pros
  • Elegant design
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Fantech WC-15 regulates the speed correctly!

I first bought a Lutron TGFSQ-FH-WH to use with a FanTech fan. I liked the conventional look of the Lutron switch. But Lutron only worked at high speed. Its medium and slow settings were too low for the fan to even spin. The great thing about the Fantech WC 15 speed controller is that not only is it variable, but you can also adjust the low speed setpoint. This allows you to use the entire range of fan speeds. To do this, turn the knob from the OFF position to the full On position and the fanโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Brushed aluminum switch plate and screws included
Cons
  • Fade

WC 15 Speed โ€‹โ€‹Control REALLY SHIT!

I bought a Fantedh FR100 fan and WC 15 speed controller for use in a recording studio where noise reduction and noise reduction is very demanding. I was hoping that if the fan was delivering more air than needed and the speed of the air exiting the duct was making a "whoosh" noise, the speed control could slow the fan down and reduce the noise. Plugging a WC 15 speed controller into the circuit will make the FR100 growl. The mechanical noise generated by the fan jumps up to 6dB above the fan'sโ€ฆ
