Supplied without hard drive

I received two hard drives, one bought and one to replace the first. They both came in retail boxes with little to no padding. They both arrived like noisy paperweights going in and out like fog on my itinerary. Hard drives are fragile and should therefore be taken into account when shipping. Both returned. The phantom program was very nice to use when the hard drives weren't bricks.

No power adapter included

No 12V power adapter included as described. It's still a good price for a hard drive alone, so if you don't need a SATA to USB 3.0 converter, this is a good deal.

Avoid like the plague this is a plated drive

Nowhere in the datasheets does this confirm this but this drive is plated making it totally unsuitable for use in any type of server especially unsuitable for any type of Raid or similar usage like zfs or btrfs. Seagate is completely dishonest about these products. I expect a class action lawsuit will be filed against them soon. Of course, if you don't mind a pebble driveway then by all means give it a try, but you'll probably save money if you buy a driveway that actually recognizes that it's…

Good price/reliable tool

I bought the 8TB 3.5" kit and it included the PSU. The clone tool on the USB stick works as expected and described. The Barracuda hard drive did not initialize as expected from a new drive. Using the included SATA/USB 3 port required some caution. This is an unreliable device. The connector is not securely attached to the hard drive and the power adapter is not fully seated in the connector. Hard Disk Sentinel free to use to check hd status it's in perfect condition i've read reviews about it doesn't work well half true, you must have a formatting software to add and format this disk, mbr must be converted to gpt disk to format more than 2TB, and note that this is only a 7.25 TB hard drive is.
