I had to request a refund. We followed the directions to the letter and didn't even forget to add dish soap. It just caught fire. There were no eruptions and the little spheres didn't even move. They sank to the bottom of the lamp and sat there. It was a gift for someone and it's really a shame it didn't work out. Now I still owe them a gift as I'm sending it back. Very disappointed.

Don't waste time. It's very small, resembling something from the 80's that had buttons on the front to create a flow (remember the old games where you pushed buttons to make the water swirl, so either little rings were the ring or balls hit the basket?). It comes empty, you need to add your water and then pour a small plastic bag with about 75-100 small red plastic beads into the water. Big mistake guys!

Ordered a Christmas present for my 6 year old. I saw one at the Cracker Barrel Store and my kid was begging for it. I was hoping to order online so I don't have to go to the store without the kids and risk selling out. Not the same quality. The flat surface of the top of the base (where it meets the transparent part of the lamp) exposed the bottom of the volcano more than what I had seen in the store and it looked awful. Wrong item pictured, I had one. This is an alternative cheaper product. You can tell by the volcano itself, it's just a small translucent cone, the fan sucks and the bullets barely rise an inch above the volcano. The model in the picture is the one I had before where the volcano is a molded textured piece and the black base around the base is NOT tilted to one side. This model in the picture, she is amazing. It's an 8 dollar thing they sell for 30 and rob people. Revain takes those guys out.

Revain offering this product to consumers is ridiculous. It's complete garbage! It didn't work and looked like it was bought at a dollar store. Nothing like a volcano, just a cheap cone-shaped piece of plastic with tiny red balls that should fly out. Unfortunately I let my son (9 years old) order this without reading the reviews. I would give this a ZERO STAR BUT THERE IS NO OPTION FOR IT. It's a piece of junk. This is a big disappointment. Photos do not accurately reflect its features. "Lava" are actually tiny plastic beads. This one is small too. It's cheaply made and super cheesy. The volcano is also a lighter shade of cheap plastic and all the bottom parts are visible from the side, so there's no authenticity at all.
