When it comes to back pain, this is a turnaround! When you raise the foot end of the bed, it essentially takes most of the pressure off your lower back and allows your lower back to lie flat on the mattress, eliminating excessive lumbar curvature and providing instant relief for my sciatic nerve pain, but this function only helps back sleepers, since a side position is not possible in this configuration. With a shipping weight of 119 pounds it shouldn't have been in a flimsy box! Each edge was thin or completely worn, and the corners were damaged. The bed frame was bent in at least 2 places, the plastic was broken. There could have been more damage but I didn't unpack after opening the end and seeing the damage. They said they don't currently have one in stock and one needs to be made and shipped from overseas and I'm doing that at the moment.
