These types of products have been around for decades. But that's hard to work with. You have to press hard on the Flit-Arm for it to ignite. I don't recommend this one. Look for another seller.

Just like I've had it since 1972! The extra flint fitted my old one and worked great right away. We've got two now, plus extra flint, so they'll easily last another 50 years!

I've never had this before so I'm not sure if this is a legitimate complaint or not. But I have found that the flint that comes with this striker is very soft and will wear down after a few uses. Other than that, this is a great lighter that I use to light my propane lamp.

I had to bend it myself to get a stable spark. It's not the kind of spark that sparks easily when you squeeze the handle. slap face. I'm not a professional welder, but I'm sure if I were I wouldn't buy this model again. works for my occasional use but that's about it

The striker is good and works well. Unfortunately it does not match the description. The listing says it comes with a striker and "5 spare" flints. The photos show the firing pin assembly (with flint installed) and 5 replacement parts. Mine came with a flint installed and only 4 spares. Therefore 2 stars deduction for the misleading and incorrect listing.

An excellent striker. I have been using this type of lighter for over 30 years. Extra flints are almost necessary if you use this a lot. I have one of these that is at least 30 years old and still works. Nothing wears out but flint, and even that will last for many years if you only use the burner occasionally. I have used this type of striker with both MAPP and propane.

This is a great product, the ONLY downside is the piezo start...get rid of it, save the customer $20. There are other lanterns that are almost identical (probably all made in China, of course). So take a look around but I am 100% satisfied with this product AFTER I bought the flint starter. "Spark" hit the target. My neighbor next door has used it as much as I have, it's fun to use but be very very careful, bring some water in case it burns!

I didn't think of that when I bought it to use as a gas stove lighter. With the open portion of the firing pin pointing down to "conduct" the spark to the burner, it is difficult (or almost impossible) for a right-handed shooter to slide a flint over the firing pin to create a spark. I recently bought a rechargeable piezoelectric igniter that does what I need it to do. Holding this device with the open part of the pot up as if lighting a MAPP gas or acetylene torch, it sparkles beautifully. But
