Simple USB 3.0 card that works great

I installed this card on an old server to support an external USB 3.0 enclosure for backups and it just works. There were no drivers to install (Windows Server 2016) and it showed up with no problems. So far, so good. Unlike many USB 3.0 cards that have an additional power connector, this one doesn't. Which is great for me since the server I'm using doesn't have standard power cords anyway. But just be aware of that beforehand. Don't plan on using them for high power devices - only for lowโ€ฆ

Works fine but to make sure it works download the driver from the Febsmart website.

Overall very happy with this card. I wanted a card that didn't require a separate power supply and included a short bracket as it would fit into an old small form factor quad-core processor with limited power options on the motherboard. The physical installation went smoothly. Windows 10 didn't recognize the card, but the USB ports were powered. I used the CD that came with it to install the driver that came with it. It still didn't work. I went to the Febsmart website and downloaded theโ€ฆ

Wasn't automatically detected in Win 10. Terrible documentation

Wanted to add a few more USB3 ports to my Win10 system without adding an external hub. This item was shipped and delivered quickly and installed easily. Unfortunately, Win 10 didn't automatically detect it and the drivers provided created an unknown device in the USB section of Device Manager. The driver tool provided also messed up my sound card drivers (Realtek) claiming they were out of date. Now my rear speaker jack doesn't work, only the front headphone jack. Goes well with HP ProLiant MicroServer

I connected the FS-U2-Pro to an older HP ProLiant MicroServer N40L (circa 2013) that only had USB2 ports and had Windows 2012 R2 installed. After attaching the low-profile bracket, the card fitted perfectly into the tight space and immediately started working without the need to install drivers. Backup to external USB3 storage is now much faster than before. Some additional notes:* The POST/BIOS screen does not recognize any storage devices attached to this card. Windows 7 users, good luck with the DOS prompt (terminal window) Set a black screen with non-standard ASCII characters for menus

4 Star Like Rating. no 5 stars Likes because of the Windows 7 installation process. A driver installation CD is *required* and it runs a 1997 DOS file (.BAT) that requires the end user to know the answers to four consecutive questions (eg .it's an NEC chipset or not - but the card isn't big enough to point out, as some do) so a WIN7 user might reboot 4 times before the correct driver is installed. One of those generic CDs for ten different products, some of which aren't even PCI-e USB products.
