I've used it but I'm nervous.

The factory EGR seal for my 2000 Tacoma appears to be copper. It's a very thin piece of aluminum with some kind of semi-metallic material on both sides. The forums recommended OEM for around $26. However, this is what I had on hand and I've had great luck with Fel-Pro pads in the past.

Pros
  • For repairing seals
Cons
  • Non-automatic

Fine, but it didn't fit this '96 with a 2.7 engine.

The two side holes are too close together. I had to "extend" the holes a bit to make them fit. There's still plenty of meat to hold everything in place, and the center hole is perfectly aligned and just the right size. But without a little adjustment to the screw holes, they definitely wouldn't fit. A file/razor/drill helps to change the length of the holes but I just hate it when it specifically says it fits your car.

Pros
  • provides an excellent seal you can trust
Cons
  • Not sure

later. Got them for my 98 Tacoma 2.4L and they don't install the EGR valve properly. The holes on the sides of the gasket are not far enough apart for proper installation. I had to adjust them by completely cutting the sides of the holes so they could fit the cleats, although they didn't line up perfectly to get around me. I assume they're working fine for now, but I'll have to buy a new set. to get the perfect OEM fit that wasn't there.

Pros
  • but came with
Cons
  • . I'll post
