Works Great: Engines & Engine Parts

I'm much better than trying to reuse factory torque to warp bolts. I tried using old factory screws and it didn't work. lit it and the head leaked so I had to pull the head out again. Put these bolts in and tighten to specs, works great. lesson learned

Never again. - Head Bolt Sets

Broken to 22 ft lbs per head. It took an hour to get it out. I had to remove the head and buy another set. Installed another head, broke another on second 90 degree pass and spent another hour removing it. When you install them, oil the tip so you can pull it out again. I go with ARP.

Pros
  • High marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • I'll add later

For one side only. fits head bolt kits

If I am selling a set of bolts I am selling bolt heads for the whole engine. No, this is for one side. I tried to be a good boy and not reuse my old screws but no, now this chinese choo choo boy is going to tear my joint since I reused the screws on one side. I should never have bought them. Should have listened to Denmah from the start. Very disappointed in me.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!

Excellent TTY screws in engines and engine parts

Make sure you understand that there is a design 1 and a design 2 for these engines. If you remove the old bolts, check the set. If you have this set of three different sized bolts, the design is 1. If all 11mm bolts are the same size, the design is 2. Made this mistake when swapping motors and assumed they were all the same. By the way, if you don't have an angle sensor, order one. You must have one to perform a correct installation.

Cons
  • The list will be long.

Order two if replacing/installing two cylinder heads.

I bought these when I was removing cylinder heads to rebuild my 2002 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 6.0L. For some reason, every repair book I've read strongly recommends (most say mandatory) to use new bolts and not reuse old bolts. I don't know why, but I replaced them anyway. Note. This set only has enough bolts for one head, so two sets are needed for a V8 engine. I made the mistake of not looking at the picture and not realizing that two sets are required to work with either cylinder head.

Pros
  • Best in the niche
Cons
  • So-so
