Don't waste your money - paper shredder

Jam on first use and started smoking after you put in 3 sheets of paper. 100% broken. Malfunction. waste of time and money. He says that he can destroy 8 sheets of paper at once, destroy cards and paperclips, but this is absolutely impossible. Don't even try. 3 sheets of plain paper are jammed in such a way that the advance doesn't even work, and the back button makes a loud shrill noise. It smells like it could catch fire. I'm afraid it will explode or burn. Smeared it and didn't help the car…

Good shredder but chokes

I like that it's compact and easy to use. Performance is important to me and I disagree with many reviews that say it can shred 8 sheets. Maybe sometimes he can do 8 leaves, but usually that many leaves slows him down, the engine starts groaning and smells burnt, and then the red light comes on. After the red light turns on, you need to wait 30 minutes for it to cool down. So I found that if you put 2 or 3 papers in at a time your throughput is actually much higher because they go through…

The best I've used so far!

Fellowes Powershred 8MC/8MC5 8-sheet shredder Like everything, it has its good and bad points. On the good side, he came all the way and did almost everything I asked of him. Has good capacity. No material defects were found. The paper is perfectly shredded, in extreme cases even with cardboard. On the other hand, it overheats fairly quickly - the instructions say 5 minutes of continuous use. However, this is not required unless you work for the FBI, CIA, or the US Embassy under siege. I had…

Great for my needs

Very good shredder. I've had a Fellowes Powershred 8MC5 8 sheet shredder for almost a year now and everything works great. I shredded 8 sheets of paper together and it worked fine (even 10, ok!), I shredded the credit cards in half where stated and that worked fine too. I even tried shredding some papers with staples left in them and they were shredded as well. It's also easy to shred very thin items like receipts by folding them in half or simply inserting them along with a regular sheet of…

Despite its shortcomings, it's better than Strip Shredder

My product does not fit 8 sheets of 20lb Georgia Pacific paper. In fact, he slows down significantly at four. I would not recommend trying the 8. It's also less of a "shredder" and more of a "chew" - meaning mine doesn't "cut" the paper as hard as it looks, it just rips it apart. This leaves a lot of paper dust and can't always adequately break the connection between important strings of letters and numbers (like your account number, social security number, password, etc. EDIT BELOW ) Other…

surprisingly good good for shredders

Summary: Very reliable microshredder, surprisingly good for the price. It might not be perfect, but it's great for more typical personal use. It's a little louder than my last shredder which cost 3-4 times as much, but it's not bad for a shredder. I highly recommend this grinder. UPDATE 8 months later (October 2020) Came back to answer a question and thought I should update. The shredder has NEVER jammed in the last 8 months and continues to work as described in my original review with no…
