Description of ๐Ÿ”Œ HAIN 3.5mm AUX Audio Adapter Cable for BMW E39 E53 X5 X5M Z4 E83 E85 E86 X3 MINI COOPER - In-Car Female Connection

The cable will enable AUX mode on your August 2002 or later Business CD head-unit. Allow your head-unit to go into an AUX mode which would normally not show. 3.5mm female Jack plug to your iP or other MP3 player to plug into your stereo.Since it plugs into the aux port directly on the back of the head unit, there is no loss of sound quality. You will need to remove the stereo to fit this kit to your car. 2003 - 2008 (E85/E86): Z4 (2.0, 2.5, 3.0 & Coupe and Convertible models) 2004 - 2010 (E83): X3 (2.0, 2.5, 3.0 & xDrive models)2000 - 2006 MINI COOPER: COOPER (R50), COOPER S (R53) & JC WORKS (Coupe & Convertible) Radio Boost CD 53 / Business CD Cars with SA 662/609 only. Please make sure that this only works with Head Unit with "MODE" button .Please make sure that this connector of 12-pin socket casing fits for your car before you bid 2. It's not compatible with old units without MODE button or cassette or Navigation Players. Doesn't work with E83 2005 X3 with CD player

Will not work on E83 X3 2005. Factory fitted radio/CD player. Connected the three required pins but I suspect the resistor was wrong to register as an AUX input.

Pros
  • . Please make sure this only works with head unit with "MODE" button. Please make sure this 12 pin connector is suitable for your vehicle before bidding. 2. It is not compatible with older devices without MODE button or cassette or navigation players.
Cons
  • Ugly packaging.

06 Mini Cooper R50 Base Coupe,

Unfortunately didn't work on my 06 Mini Coupรฉ R50. The device connects and the AUX signal shows up, but I couldn't get the audio to respond. I have a CD player but no exchanger. It was a waste of time for me, now I've ordered the original MINI Cooper additional cable, let's see what happens ๐Ÿ˜ž

Pros
  • 2003-2008 (E85/E86): Z4 (2.0, 2.5, 3.0 models, coupe and convertible) 2004-2010 (E83): X3 (2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and xDrive models) 2000 - MINI COOPER 2006: COOPER (R50), COOPER S (R53) and JC WORKS (Coupe and Cabrio) Radio Boost CD 53 / Business CD Only vehicles with SA 662/609
Cons
  • Not bad

I had problems with the installation itself, I think it was because my Mini Cooper S 06 came with a Harmon Cardon sound system. So the wiring on the back of my radio was quite "tighter" than some YouTube tutorials I found. But after enough time and effort, I pulled the radio out just long enough to insert the clipped adapter. I routed the cable through the glove box (there was a flushed rubber hole that the previous owner used on his vintage iPhone, didn't want to try and upgrade it) and thisโ€ฆ

Pros
  • 3.5mm jack to connect to your IP or other MP3 player to connect to your stereo system. Because it connects directly to the Aux port on the back of the main unit, there is no degradation in sound quality. You must remove your stereo to install this kit in your vehicle.
Cons
  • Some small things
