I ordered this in October and as you can see it has started to rust around the edge. I couldn't contact the seller. So it was the only choice I had to make any kind of contact with them. Just amazing. They prevent all the water from going down the drain. I myself wasn't very good at the fluid dynamics section of my high school physics textbook, but the people who designed it were probably top of the class! I recently bought a cork from another seller. This plug fitted my spare disposal hole perfectly; It also fit the original sink hole in my 40 year old double sink, but at one point it went in so tight I had to pull it out. Based on the dimensions of the two products, this cork was 1/8 inch too small, so I found it perfect. Unfortunately, they were actually the same diameter. However, the outer edge of the stopper is soft enough that I was able to trim it. Holds water and is easy to remove.

Works as intended. I checked with a magnet, not steel. So probably ss in some form. It shouldn't just sit over the drain like a plastic mushroom with a pop-up center. You need to push the drain down so that the outside edge is against the inside wall. With a little running water or some washing-up liquid, it is very easy to stick in place and keeps the water in the sink forever. This outer edge seals and grips. I received my sink plugs today, I really needed them and couldn't wait to get home to try them. At first I couldn't put the cork on, I tried several times, the water kept seeping through the drain. When I got them I liked their clean and stylish looks but I doubted they would work because other reviewers mentioned they weren't waterproof. Upon receipt, I stuck one firmly down the drain and filled the sink to the brim with water.
