Works great and fits in a 1 gallon glass jar

I bought these by mistake to replace a longer narrow split seal auto siphon. I was afraid it would be too wide/thick to use, but it fit the neck of my 1 liter jugs perfectly. I can't use the clamp but am very happy with it.

Pros
  • Gotcha!
Cons
  • boring packaging

1 gallon Brewer's Friend

I started making small batches of beer instead of 5 gallon batches but I still used a 5 gallon siphon and juggled all the excess length . I ordered this little one and got to work right away. He does exactly what is necessary! Please note that hoses are NOT included.

Pros
  • Expensive but decent
Cons
  • Not bad but...

Works great for its purpose.

We have a larger version of this siphon that we used to use for beer and wine making. This works just as well for smaller purposes. I use it to replace water in Aerogarden hydroponic pots. Remember that this is just a siphon, you need to buy the pipe separately.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Newer model could have been chosen

Reliable, high quality and ideal for small batches of mead and cider

This item works great. If you are making a small batch (1 gallon) this is the best item. First I bought a large siphon and it was a pain, but this thing is great for my small batches. There are no complaints at all. Very durable, dropped several times on tile and concrete, and not a single crack.

Pros
  • Handy item
Cons
  • Can hurt

This siphon is perfect for my 1 gallon batches of house wine

This siphon is perfect for my 1 gallon batches of house wine. I've never had any problems with it. Excellent suction and no re-inflation. I've never had to download this thing more than twice. He always delivers. It's very easy to clean and the siphons are at the perfect height so I don't get nasty dead yeast when pouring the wine.

Pros
  • Pretty impressive
Cons
  • Style 90

Worked fantastic. for a SMALL bottle!

If that's not enough, just take this for small bottles like 1 gallon. I tried using it on a larger bottle and failed through no fault of the product but instead read inattentively. It worked incredibly well when I first acquired the siphon and has actually kept the siphon running for much longer than I expected (considering I was pushing its limits). If the big one worked that well, I wouldn't have a problem!

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • It's hard to remember, but it was

Good for the price

Good product at an affordable price. I have a hand siphon in my homebrew kit (first time home brewing here) and this hand siphon has given me a lot of spills :(. Less than for dinner; I bought this and it hasn't spilled while carrying cider. Newly welded No hose included so if you don't have a hose be sure to get one although this siphon is very easy to use without any effort!

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • The list goes on.

Easy to use and great product

Fits in 1 gallon bottles but is not small enough to fit in the 1.75 liter bottles we used. Getting to the bottom of the 1-gallon bottle also required a steady hand to tip the jug, as the siphon wasn't flexible enough to fully sink into it while standing on its side. It was difficult to separate the cider from the lees without disturbing the lees, possibly having to sort it again because too much yeast was pulled out while trying to recover the offal. Otherwise it does exactly what it promises.

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • I will add later

Excellent siphon for small portions

I have used this siphon for two liter batches of strong cider and one liter batch of mead. This siphon goes to the bottom of a standard 1 gallon carburetor and will suck up sediment from the bottom if you're not careful. This has been a fantastic little product for me and if any of you are thinking about just transferring your homebrew from your main fermentation vessel to another, buy a siphon, it's a lot easier. The bottling is also doing well, although the cobalt blue bottles are barelyโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Gets angry
