I almost canceled this order after reading a review about the product that didn't work at all. I'm very glad that I couldn't cancel and was hoping that when it arrived it would work. I was wrong. I tried again and the battery compartment popped open. So my mistake! I have a spare lamp and I want to decide which one offers the best color rendering. I previously bought 'this' lamp on this list when it had white plastic at the bottom of the base with a button instead of one had switched and used AA batteries instead of AAA and had the nicest lighting options. You could press a button and it had options: 3 fixed colors, 4 multicolored settings (all constant, not changing) and 1 setting that changed colors on its own over time. So beautiful. I have 2 of this version and 1 of them has recently stopped working, even with the freshest batteries.
