I love these lights!

I first bought one of these after a friend recommended the Original Stingray for my 10 gallon tank. I like it, my plants like it, everyone is happy. Just last week I bought a 29 gallon tank and immediately ordered another stingray for it. Both of my tanks look phenomenal under this light and I have nothing but good things to say! Add to that the fact that they are very competitively priced and you end up with an overall good product.

Broke after less than a year of use.

I bought this light for my 29 gallon rimmed tank. The light just came out today and I can say it's really bright and looks very smooth. The problem is I didn't get the advertised legs to place a stand on my rimmed tank. It just sits on top and is not attached to the tank. Not very happy with that. Edit: This light started to dim over time. I have to buy a new lamp. I've had the light for less than a year and it's already faulty. I would not recommend this light. O

Sleek and sleek: aquarium light

I have a 60 gallon Heartland aquarium and it's quite a large tank so I had to find a light that would fit pants growing, but still economical. Corey from Aquarium CO-OP reviewed the original Finnex Stingray and he approved it so I decided to give it a try. I went to Amazon and found out there was a newer model of the original so I bought it. I'm glad I did this as it's a lot brighter and thinner than the light I had before. Thank you Finnex for a quality product that doesn't cost a fortune! I…

Maybe too bright

Well done. Arrived on time and without damage. Maybe too light for my 60 gallon aquarium with no plants. Shown at left is a former Marineland 36" LED light on a 60 gallon (48") wide tank. You can see the dark ends of the tank where the light didn't shine. On the right is the new Finnex 48" LED Stingray 2 before I adjusted the amount of light. Much better lighting. I decided to cover some of the LED lights with some strips of white paper wrapped around the entire assembly and taped at the top to

Sleek and efficient LED lighting

Stingray 2 lighting is perfect for my 55 gallons with no plants. Tank for cichlids. This replaced an old two lamp fluorescent setup on faulty ballasts that I was looking to fix. I'm glad I didn't! It looks good, lights up well and is easy to get out of the way when trying to catch cichlids to donate to other enthusiasts. dot was exactly what I was looking for in basic lighting. I expect good quality as I tend to hold on to things for a long time and get burned buying the cheapest solutions. I…

The brightest/best LED I've found!

This is Revain's best aquarium LED at the best price. I bought a heavily planted tank from Craigslist over 5 years ago. It came with a Finnex LED and lots of live plants (all flowering) and the aquascaping work was great. The previous owner obviously knew what he was doing. That's how I first came across this brand. I forgot the brand name but was dying to know for future setups because it was the brightest aquarium light I have ever seen. Luckily I found out. This is Finnex. I have also used…

Great light if you can stand the plastic nozzles

GOOD STUFF: The performance you get for the price is good for the price, it's very bright. Modern sleek design. Looks good in an aquarium. The plastic extension legs look great Works great I accidentally dunked in the water once and it still works great :)) BAD plastic stuff is a pain. They slide all the time, everywhere, hard to adjust, it's just bad design when you are like me especially that you have to move the light when you feed the fish. (as long as you have a setting where you put it on

Pros
  • Cool product
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Disappointed with performance and inefficiency

I received a unit that didn't work with a bad diode. This light is perfect for a rimless micro cube of 5 gallons or less for shrimp, no more. Somehow I was under the impression that it was a higher performance and better diode for what it is. Ideally 420nm and 660nm are suitable for horticulture but the diodes used are less efficient and weak compared to newer diodes on the market. If Finnex 5050, 2835 or better Samsung lm561c or lm501b/h diodes with additional half or Lumiled Luxeon or Sunplus

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Poorly thought out
