Firestik K-11 Magnetic Mount w/ 18 " Coax Cable

This mount was recommended to me by a cb shop owner. And I'm very glad I listened. Extremely strong magnetic base with a smooth surface so it won't scratch my car. Very happy; 5 Stars.

Works - for low profile applications - low wind resistance

Not for high profile antennas. (I think it says so, but didn't see it when I bought it.) I don't use it as I already had a high quality antenna. He fell off my car as a large car passed me on a dual carriageway. Not good. But I don't think that's his design intent either.

Best Gud Mount in Portable AV

I can't believe the magnetism of this ceramic mount. Incredible on steel round 3/16n6". Attached to aluminum support. Can't separate them. Godless. Can't speak to SWR although for this cable I'll probably have to cut a lot by 12 feet for a frequency of 11 meters or about 11 feet. for 10m tape Amazing magnet strength Damn cool Won't move!

Pros
  • Easy to Read Control Panel
Cons
  • Out of Style

Lightweight product for CB and radio equipment

When I received the product it only fit a 3ft high antenna. Of course the 5ft Firestik2 fell off after 3 minutes of driving. As with any magnet, the holding power of the attraction depends on the thickness of the sheet metal. You can attach a thicker piece of steel to the surface of the car to give it better holding power. Hitting the stick too hard will bend the metal top of the magnet where the hole is, resulting in a bad connection.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Crumpled

Perfect when fitted correctly (as recommended by manufacturer)

I suspect most people who have problems are not using the mount for its intended purpose. On their website, Firestik recommends a lightweight antenna no longer than 3 feet and a medium-force spring. I've been using this mount for a few weeks now, mounted on a FLAT surface with a Firestik 3ft Firefly antenna and medium spring with no problems. I can bend it all the way to the roof and it stays up with no problems. Always use a spring for magnetic mounts, I can bang on branches all day and not…

Big magnet at high speeds with a 3ft fiber optic antenna.

This bad boy is awesome! I drive 3 hours on the interstate to and from work. Mostly at pretty high speeds because I have lead poisoning in my right leg. He never fell. It stuck like super glue. It's even hard to move. I installed it on my 09' Malibu on the trunk. The 18-foot cable was a shockingly perfect length from the trunk to the front of the car near the center console. I installed my BEARCAT 980 next to my radio. I have a heavy Firestik spring with a 3ft fiberglass FS antenna and it works

It is what it is: CB and talkback radios

This is a magnet. It's not magic. It's not difficult. If you are not careful, she will fall. If you drive a small car and/or don't want to permanently mount the short CB antenna, use this. If you plan to install a whip antenna and drive off-road or in wooded areas, use a permanent mount. I've had it for two weeks now. I attached a three foot Firestik antenna and a strong Firestik spring to this magnet mount. I drive a small hatchback with a CB antenna on the roof. I can drive 70mph on the…
