This item does not appear to be made of stainless steel. Within 12 hours of installation, heavy flash rust had developed in 4 different places on the outside of the bracket, which was not even touched by tools during installation. The seller offered a refund, but you should not disassemble the interior of the car to remove the cable. etc. about it. Just wanted to point out the quality of materials to other potential buyers.

Everything worked great except the cable is about 4 feet shorter to reach my truck dash. I installed on the passenger side between the tailgate, routed the wire through the taillight housing and followed the right side of the chassis to the firewall. I have about a foot left on the fire wall that doesn't reach the truck long enough to reach it. I would say it works if you mount directly behind the cab of the truck, but not on the tailgate of my Tacoma 07.

Very easy setup. I used various nuts and bolts to install a Jeep Cherokee. The supplied screws weren't strong enough, although I didn't try. The only thing that stands out to me with 5 launches is the 4 foot firestick antenna and heavy spring. I couldn't tighten the mount enough that it wouldn't move. Even if you only drive on the freeway. I tried red Loctite and it still moves. I'll end up just welding it on so it doesn't move. Overall a great adjustable mount.

Excellent product. I had to do a few bends to get it to fit exactly how I wanted it, but it's not specific to any particular car, so that's acceptable. Installed on 99 4runner sport. I placed it halfway up the driver's side liftgate pillar just behind the gas strut with a Firestik spring and 4 foot fiberglass bolt. Mounted with 4 screws that need pre-drilling but if done right it will hold up very well. The bracket is very strong, 1/8 inch thick and very difficult to bend.
