Great so far!: Smoke Alarms & Fire Alarms

I thought they had the same mount as the old ones which was one of the reasons I bought them but the wiring harness and mount were completely different so that's what ended have to replace everything. It wasn't a big deal, but for those who think you can just pull out the old one and put this one in. Make sure you compare the wiring harness to this one or you'll have to switch out the switch and completely remove the old one and install these. Once installed and tested they were good, no more…

If you want PTSD, this is for you!

Do you like to send your children to noise treatment? Do you like to jump when the toaster or oven preheater beeps? Do you like it when your ears are ringing all day? Then this is for you. They go out randomly when there is no smoke, fire, or moisture. The sound is deafening, which is effective in a real emergency. We had 4 alarm clocks of the same model that went off randomly, the first time the fire brigade only came to tell us it was a faulty unit. FirstAlert's request for a recall has been…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Working speed

Bought 7 years ago to replace all the wiring in our house. They have been working fine but have been experiencing brief false positives lately. Trigger lock is indicated by a constantly flashing red light, which is useful if the alarm stays on long enough for you to walk around the house whenever the alarm goes off! I found out online that the trigger block catches the alarm so you can tell which one triggered it *after* they stopped. A NOTICE. There is no information about this bar in the user

Buyer Warning. Fire Protection

Do not buy these alarms. I did some research to find the best alarm system for my home. They have the best sensor and great reviews, but be warned there are many complaints about them tweeting at times. It's always unexpected to get an alarm clock, but at 2am it sucks. And when my 11-year-old golden retriever wakes up because he's scared of fireworks and other loud noises, it keeps you awake for hours. I reset the alarms and then turned them off one at a time. Each of the alarms will sound…

Injuries False alarms, complete rubbish

Would give zero stars if I could. I moved into a house with 5 of them and they started walking at 3am. I estimated they were 8 years old so I wrote it down on the units age and bought another 5. Less than 2 years later the false positives started again. Today was my last straw as they screamed for no reason when I got home from work. God knows how long my poor dog suffered to hear this crap. I had no idea which device was causing the problem as they all worked which made me panic as I ripped…

A product that often worked incorrectly

Do not do this if you want to be woken up at midnight. I've bought several of these. On the 2nd day I installed them. One of them briefly walked away around midnight and stopped. There was no smoke at all but the siren sounded so loud it woke everyone up. The problem is you don't know which one worked. There should be a flashing red light to tell you which one has failed, but none of them showed a red flashing light. I then returned the one I suspect most to Revane. Just yesterday around 11pm…

Complex beeps and flashes

I use the 7010b in all four bedrooms and in my office. I use an SC7010b carbon monoxide and smoke detector in the upstairs and downstairs hallways and a 3120b dual photoelectric and ionization detector above the living room. For three years I had both false alarms and no alarms. The sequences of beeps and flashing LEDs used to convey status are slow to read and hard to remember. My home is in Northern California and as I write this, fires are raging nearby. It is important that we have a…
