Original constantly open. It was very narrow and not all of the cutlery fitted - some of the shorter handles did not fit. Couldn't use it comfortably. This is a replacement - wider baskets - two of these can be attached as one but they will not fit this model - and all cutlery will fit! I'm finally happy with it.

Should have read previous purchase reviews. The long side of the basket is actually closer to 9.25 inches, which is not the size stated in the product description. This basket does not fit in my dishwasher. Given that other reviewers have provided actual measurements, the seller should properly update them in the listing rather than wasting my time.

I bought this because the cutlery rack that came with my dishwasher attaches to the door in an awkward way and is difficult to attach or remove when full. Also, most of the holes didn't match the wide handles of my new cutlery. This shelf solves both problems: it slides in and out of the dishwasher very easily, and all the holes are big enough for any cutlery.

I enjoy this cutlery organizer so much. The shelf that came with the dishwasher in my rental had huge slots that offered no separation. My dishwasher is a newer Frigidaire. I left the original basket and added a new basket where it fits. The old basket was wider. The only downside is the ability to put fewer plates and larger items on the bottom shelf, which is fine with me. The plastic grid at the bottom of my original cutlery basket has deteriorated so I was happy to find this replacement which is made from a stronger plastic than my original Maytag hardware dishwasher . If you're also looking for a replacement, check out how they're constructed, as the sides of the baskets on this machine are also "mesh" for better drainage and drying.
