Works on aquarium cleaners

I use this for my 3 gallon Betta aquarium. This works pretty well once you run it and remove most of the "heavy" from below. There were no problems with gravel and decorations. I recommend this product.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Long wait

Easy to use once you get the hang of it

I really had trouble starting to vacuum! That is, until I learned the secret of already having enough water in the bucket to keep the end of the tube submerged. After learning this trick, I fell in love with this little vacuum cleaner.

Pros
  • Very good value for money
Cons
  • Mostly good but...

Basically well thought out

Full disclosure: I received this product as part of a promotion. The product seems well thought out with two different suction end lengths, but the long one should be longer in my opinion. Comes with a flow restrictor if you need to slow down the suction, a suction cup to keep the suction end in the water and a clip to keep it attached to the aquarium during use. My biggest concern is the material itself, which I believe will eventually become brittle, chip, or tear.

This article does what it is supposed to do - no problem

This aquarium cleaner does what it is supposed to. If you have kinks in your hose, remember that the blue clip on the hose can be used to prevent the hose from kinking. It can also be used to stop the flow of water, which I think might be its original purpose, but I don't think the hose can handle much of that in the long run. Also, to stop the flow, it is enough to take the working end of the hose out of the water to break the siphon (i.e. let some air into the hose).

Pros
  • good article
Cons
  • somewhat torn

Great tool: Aquarium Cleaner

It works great in all of my aquariums. I have 2.5 gallon, 4 gallon, 5 gallon, 10 gallon, 20 gallon and 30 gallon. The longer nozzle works really well in 10 and 30 gallon tanks, but isn't very effective in smaller tanks because the entire majority of the hose you stick into the water has to be fully submerged to maintain suction. The smaller nozzle works great. I read a few reviews that said it stopped working after a use or two, but I used it on 5 of my tanks in one day. I love this productโ€ฆ

The best out there!

In my opinion, this gravel vacuum is the best. I got this for my 10 gallon mystery snail tank. They produce a lot of litter and they needed something small enough to hold 10 gallons but powerful enough to get all the litter to the bottom. That was excellent. It has a fish guard and I cut a piece of pre-filter sponge to put in the guard (I have small pinhead sized snails). It worked great. It didn't clog and I was able to safely remove all debris without sucking on the kids. The suction power is

Quick start, useful features

I bought two of these units. One of them was damaged on arrival and I got my Revain money back quickly and easily. I didn't like the other one because I couldn't figure out how to attach the long nozzle to the base. It turned out I couldn't unscrew the short nozzle from the base as the instructions clearly state. Now I've attached a longer attachment and can easily move the gravel instead of just hovering over it. The sucking starts with just two or three quick pear squeezes. I want the hose to

The second one works better

The first time I used it I found I had to keep pumping the ball to get the suction strong enough to dislodge the gravel. It broke the second time I used it. It couldn't handle the suction and I couldn't refill it. If it's only been used to pull water it's fine, but if you're hoping it will scoop up debris from the gravel maybe try something else. I will return it and try again to see if I just got a bad one. Update - The replacement didn't break and appears to be more durable than the first. Iโ€ฆ
