Blunt, don't cut! A piece of clothing has hardly lasted.

I sew leotards and dance costumes, this blade was barely enough for a leotard project. After a few cuts it became dull, leaving huge uncut areas. Now if I roll it over the fabric unless I press so hard my fingers turn white it won't do anything. I have to make each cut half a dozen times, which just completely tears the fabric. If the blade is only enough for one outfit, it's not worth it. I tried sharpening it on foil but it didn't do anything. Maybe you just can't use this type of cutter on…

Very sharp, suitable for circular knives

I know it's a stupid name. I didn't cut myself using this, I put it on and just hit the blade with my knuckle. I didn't hit him at an angle either, I literally just hit him with my knuckle, not hard, and felt the cut. The next day he was almost completely healed. The reason I mention this is because it's as sharp as I need it to be. Very little pressure is required when cutting fabric. I'm not upset or anything, I just wanted to point out that he's really very perceptive. Pushing the blade out…

Nice design, the blade needs some work.

I like this disc cutter. The grip is comfortable and I could cut all day. The problem I have is not so much with the cutter but with the blade. The blade that comes with it is terrible. I made 2 projects and cut a layer of cotton fabric for 2 baby blankets. It got to the point where it even stopped cutting, so I gave up and bought a new blade. It was the difference between day and night. The new blade was used on about 4 projects, my last one required 4 even cuts through 9 layers of fabric. I…

Ideal for paper

I only use this Fiskars rotary knife to cut paper for custom notebooks. I think it's easy to use, incredibly smooth and the blade is still sharp. I'm not a Fiskars fan at all, but they get the job done. Oh, and I'm left-handed, and changing the blade was quick and easy. I don't cut anything freehand, so the wobble described below isn't an issue. I usually cut 10-12 sheets at a time on a cutting mat. With strong pressure, they cut off in 1-2 passes. I only cut in one direction. I agree with…

The blade didn't even go through clothing.

See all those people in the reviews complaining about dull blades? There's a reason for that. Pros: The cutter is really comfortable to hold and it's a lot easier to cut out pattern pieces than with scissors. When the cutter was taken out of the box, the blade was so sharp that all I had to do was wave it across the fabric and the garments cut themselves. Well, not really, but it seemed so; it was really sharp and cut effortlessly. The Bad: The blade didn't even hold a single piece of clothing.

Pros
  • Crafts and Sewing
Cons
  • Some bugs

I've been using this cutter since I bought it in September. This tailor is awesome! He has already cut over 750 pieces of clothing. Each product is cut into at least 4 parts. Garments are cut into 4-6 pieces PLUS what is cut and discarded such as elasticated cuffs and waist belts, zippers and button plackets. That's a lot of editing. Here it is, December 8th, 3 months old and over 750 pieces of clothing and over 3000 pieces later. and I'm still using the same original blade that came with the…
