Fiskars Gingher Goldhandle Trimmers 01 005292 Review

These scissors were too tight to use comfortably. They stuck in the middle of the blade and required a lot of force to cut through. After reading other reviews I was able to loosen the screw a quarter turn and they were then perfect. I feel like they should have been factory tested for proper tightness for smooth passage between the blades.

The gold standard scissors formerly manufactured by Gingher in Germany are a thing of the past. I bought these scissors; they arrived today. The gold handles don't even match, it's almost impossible to open them and scratch them when you close them. Fiskar has clearly made a mistake and no longer shows the care and quality that Gingher once had. I will never buy Ginger scissors again. They claim they are made in "Italy", they are so cheap they look like they were mass produced with no quality…

These beautiful gingers with gold handle and I was very happy to receive them. I love Gingher shears and have several pairs but this pair was a little disappointing. Not only are they very stiff, but they are also significantly heavier than any other Gingher scissors I have ever owned. The oiling has increased the stiffness a bit but they are still very stiff compared to my other Ginghers shears. ***Edited on 11/13/16***I have noticed rusting over the past few months. I keep them in a black plastic protective sleeve. Moisture doesn't bother them. If I need to clean them, I just wipe them down with a dry microfiber cloth. They are now difficult to move on the handle. Very disappointed. These incredible scissors. I sew as a hobby and cut fabrics with the scissors that came with Singer until I bought them as a luxury and they make such a big difference. The edges of my fabric are clean now, it cuts even thick fabric like butter and the best part for me is that they are a good weight so I can use their own weight to my advantage when I'm cutting, but they aren't heavy that I couldn't lift them (and I have very weak arms and tendinitis in my arm).
