I've been climbing for a while now and got my Mocs about 6 months ago. I climb in them 3-4 times a week indoors just as a training shoe and I can honestly say they are an amazing all round shoe. If you are just starting out in the sport I would say these shoes are for you. The rubber on the mocs is killer, slides like a champ, you feel where you step through the rubber but it still gives you that grip.
