These are actually very good flameless candles. The candle's "flame" oscillates, causing the light to flicker and create a beautiful candle effect. This is a nice set of candles in different sizes so you can group them or use them individually. Do they look 100% realistic? no But these are the best I've ever used. And it's always nice not to worry about candles if you have kids or pets who are very, very, VERY curious!

I love battery powered candles. I try to only buy those that have a flat plastic wick attached to the wire because I think they give off a more realistic flame/flicker than silicone. Most sellers do not describe the wick, so there may be a hit or miss when purchasing a new kit.
