Because I live in the Southwest and have scorpions in and around my house, I originally bought a cheap UV lamp to keep at home to keep. It worked fine for a few months but really wasn't high quality. This item is of excellent quality. Well built and I like the micro USB charging. highly recommended.

These things last a pretty long time on each charge. The low and high power settings are very useful for adjusting the amount of light entering the photographed image. Although it is actually more of a black light than longwave UV light given the 395nm wavelength, it still works well with fluorescent minerals that are sensitive to longwave light.

I like the product for its intended purpose, but I have a problem: the magnetic base isn't strong enough to hold the flashlight on any surface due to its weight. You might think when you mention it has a magnetic function, it must work. And for that reason alone I'm giving it four stars.

My cat dribbles when it comes out of the litter box, so I wanted to find something that would help me quickly find places to clean every morning. It's not good to find. It makes the fibers glow, but not as much urine. It's nice and solid and I think it's just technology and not this product per se.

I bought this flashlight for two reasons: first, to charge it, and second, to detect dog urine. I have another black light that needs batteries and I'm so tired of walking around with them. So for the charging part, it works great. However, there isn't much to use it for what I need! When the light hits what it's aimed at, a large black circle appears in its center, making it difficult for me to spot dog urine. Therefore I am not satisfied with it and will not recommend it.
